The medical history, the search for a pathological identification or a therapeutic path set their foundations on expectation. How is the expectation nourished from a rhetorical-argumentative point of view in the therapeutic dialogue? The linguistic tool is useful to consciously identify the attendance scope and interpret the patient’s illness’ narrative. The tailor-made care precision acquires a double meaning: the adaptation/modeling on the patient and the structure/morphology of evolving expectations. The work methodology consists in bringing to light generalizable theoretical reflections on significant rhetorical-argumentative aspects of doctorpatient communication, through the application of the New Rhetoric by Perelman to analysis of exempla consultations.
