Abstract

When the ending of a literary work is already written in the opening, what prompts the reader to remain in suspense until its conclusion? This work, through the analysis of the narrative and rhetorical techniques adopted by the poet-director of Liberata, aims to offer a possible answer, paying particular attention to the study of the dynamics of the Tasso’s plot, a real interactional device, which responds the need to arouse a cognitive desire.
