L' attesa nella neuropsicologia: uno sguardo ai processi cognitivi sottostanti nell’era delle nuove tecnologie

Abstract

The scientific literature has pointed out the great adaptive capacities of the brain. Our central nervous system can in fact reshape its synapses and conformation in response to the different environmental stimuli. In particular, some research focus on changes in the development of certain cognitive abilities related to waiting, such as attentional processes and reward mechanisms. The results made it possible to detect some changes in the efficiency of these skills associated with a greater use of technological devices such as smartphones. However, the results need to be analyzed in the light of some structural limitations of the studies such as the lack of time necessary for a prospective observation and the analysis methods used.
