Abstract

Prison is hell. Tullio Murri lived it for many years and told the sad life of the prisoners, describing characters, behaviors and bodies. A few decades earlier, Cesare Lombroso also studied the physical appearance of criminals: the tattoo, for example, shows the criminal nature and culture of which this essay analyzes the “infernal” language.
