The essay presents ACA – Atlante delle Case d’Autore (Atlas of Famous Houses), a pilot project for the digital mapping of the residences of cultural figures in central Italy and the central Apennines. After defining criteria and taxonomies, the work combines web reconnaissance, on-site checks and five case studies to validate historical, administrative and functional data. The web platform offers standardised data sheets and thematic itineraries, with implications for public engagement and cultural tourism. The analysis reveals critical issues and potential, including the under-representation of women and the proposal for an educational itinerary dedicated to female authors.
