Declinazioni dell’attesa nell’Ossian in alcune spigolature montiane

Abstract

For his translation of Ossian Cesarotti works a lot on the Italian language and the transformations he takes inside the language contribute to let it know the changes that animate the new Nordic aesthetics. The theme of the wait, that is present in the Poems of Ossian in several aspects, can help to analyse how much Cesarotti’s influence has been embraced by next poetry. The essay aims to examine this phenomenon along the artistic way of Vincenzo Monti, from his early young verses, like the Pensieri d’amore, to the Napoleonic works, like the Bardo della selva nera and the Spada di Federigo.
